Don't Blink

Lately my normal day consists of waking up at 5:00, doing homework until 8:00 when Tyler and Easton wake up we snuggle on the couch for 15 minutes, then we start with breakfast, getting ready, cleaning, going to the library, play group, the park, bike rides, or whatever else we want to get out of the house. Then it's reading time and nap time for both kids 1:30-4:30, I get study time in for 3 more hours. Then kids wake up (we snuggle), cook dinner, and then daddy comes home and the evening usually has something in store as well. Kids go to bed around 9:30, Luke and I have maybe 30 min-1 hour together, and it's on to another day...

I have been thinking a lot about the country song "Don't Blink". I feel like some times life is so busy that I don't take the time to stop and smell the flowers, watch the sunset, stare at the stars or take naps with my children. Sometimes I look at my little Easton and my little Tyler and try to memorize their faces, voices, smells... They are growing up so fast, and I want to cherish the precious children that they are. I hope I never forget their innocents, their purity, their love, and their sweet personalities.
Easton is Mr. Easy Going. He usually wakes up and coos in his bed. I walk in and he has a big smile ready for me. He likes to be awake for a bit, look around and then eat a little later. Easton has bright blue eyes, silvery hair, and the softest, purest skin you'll ever touch. He usually smells like baby shampoo with a little sour milk (that he likely spit up and is fermenting in his neck folds). He has a strong, tight little body, and loves to stiffen his legs and kick. He drools through several bibs each day, he loves to spit and blow bubbles when he coos. He will usually sit in his chair and stare at me and then the second we make eye contact I get a big smile as drool falls out of his mouth, down his chin, and on to his already soaked bib. Easton has such a precious spirit about him. I'm sooooo BLESSED to have this perfect little boy in our lives right now he is just what we need.

Here is Easton's happy look He doesn't show a ton of expression unless you catch him at the right time, he'll have fun smiling and cooing, and occasionally give a little chuckle.

Easton and Grandpa Dave for his birthday. We went to Tucanos and this is right after the waiters came out and sang him the happy birthday song with all sorts of instruments. Easton was near tears.

I had to include this picture. This is Easton and I in front of Shoshone falls, it was AMAZING. This picture doesn't do it justice.

Me and my 2 little boys. Then we move on to Tyler Clyde Coats. Tyler is such a joy. This kid makes me laugh out loud every day. Tyler is a strong, short, little firey boy. He is always full of energy but also full of love. He occasionally will stop me and say "mom, I wanna hug" or "I wanna snuggle" He keeps busy and occupied, he is a man with a constant mission. Tyler is also very social. He will occasionally stop me and say "mom, let's talk" or he will ask me "how's your day?". Tyler and I went around to visit some people the other week, and he is interactive and friendly to everyone. I am SOOOO grateful for my Tyler, he is my little friend.
Here is spiderman and daddy in a cave by Shoshone falls. Tyler LOVES his daddy. I'm so glad that he has a daddy that plays with him, wrestles him, teaches him man things, and loves him.

I love Tyler's smile.
Tyler and I have had lunch in the swing set hut several times (-: He calls it his house.
Me and my love. Lots of times my focus is primarily on my 2 busy rascals, but I need to take the time to cherish my precious husband as well. Luke works so hard for me and the boys. He's very involved in work, church, and starting a new softball team. Luke is wonderful to me, patient with me, and helps me accomplish all my hopes and dreams. We have a marvelous life, and need to take a step back and see the little beauties around us.

I want to kiss those sweet Easton Cheeks. Will and Easton are going to be quite the pair when they get together. They will have to sumo wrestle. Can't wait for July so we can see ya!

Hi! Not to be creepy, but I read your blog sometimes. :) Found it from Megan Anyway/McGee's blog (we were friends in high school). Anyway, I was just wondering, are you getting your DNP? If so, do you mind my asking from where? I'm an RN/BSN, been out of school and working for 2 years, and we're living in Arkansas right now, and there are NO programs around here, so I am very interested in distance learning. Do you like the program you're in? If you feel like responding, that is awesome, but I do understand you are super busy and may or may not be weirded out by my comment. :) Thanks!
